Because the most impactful teachers aren’t the ones who teach like someone else.

— They’re the ones who teach from the soul.

Learn to teach yoga with intelligence, intuition, and heart.

Great yoga teachers don’t teach from a script…
They teach from experience, intuition, and a deep relationship with the practice

TEACHING FROM THE SOUL: 200 HR YTT

OCTOBER 2026 - MAY 2027

One Weekend a Month. 8 months total

with SALTY BUDDHA

Teaching from the Soul is a training designed to help you build strong foundations in movement, anatomy, and energetics while

DISCOVERING THE TEACHER THAT ALREADY LIVES WITHIN YOU.

Through thoughtful study, hands-on practice, and guidance from experienced teachers, you’ll learn how to skillfully sequence and lead yoga classes, understand the body through anatomy and biomechanics, explore the energetic dimensions of yoga, and develop your own authentic voice as a teacher.

This collaborative training brings together the experience and perspective of teachers from Salty Buddha Yoga and Island Yoga Space, creating a rich and supportive learning environment for students to deepen their practice and grow into confident, thoughtful teachers.

Rather than asking you to teach exactly like us, this training encourages you to grow into the teacher you are meant to be—rooted in knowledge, inspired by tradition, and guided by your own lived experience of the practice.

What if I don’t want to teach?

You don’t have to.

Maybe it’s not about teaching for you.
Maybe it’s that something in the practice has started to click—

The way alignment changes how a pose feels in your body.
The philosophy behind the practice beginning to land.
The sense that there’s more here than what can fit into a 60-minute class.

This training is where we explore those layers.

A space to slow down, ask questions, and understand the practice in a deeper, more intentional way. To meet yourself where you are… and expand from there.

Without the pressure of becoming a teacher—
but with the opportunity to become your own guide, your own inner teacher.

What You’ll Leave With:

  • 200-hour Yoga Alliance–certified teaching certification

  • A deeper, more intuitive understanding of your body and the layers within the practice

  • Tools to support growth—on and off the mat.

  • A community that stays with you, and a clearer sense of your path

What Does a Training Weekend Look Like?

Each monthly module follows a consistent rhythm, allowing you to settle into the training while building confidence as both a student and future teacher.

FRIDAY NIGHT Sangha

We begin each weekend by slowing down.

Friday evenings are dedicated to reconnecting with yourself and your fellow trainees through meditation, meaningful conversation, philosophy, journaling, and community. It's a chance to leave the outside world behind and arrive fully present before diving into the weekend ahead.

5:30–8:30 PM

SATURDAY

Saturday is our primary learning day.

We'll move together through yoga practice, explore the month's curriculum, study alignment and teaching methodology, practice cueing and sequencing, and begin integrating the material through discussion and partner work.

9:00 AM–4:30 PM

SUNDAY

Sunday is all about integration.

We'll continue our practice, refine teaching skills, receive feedback, and close the weekend with reflection, discussion, and intention as you prepare to carry the work into your daily life.

9:00 AM–3:30 PM

The Hollow

Some of the most meaningful growth happens between our monthly gatherings.

Throughout the training, you'll continue deepening your practice through self-study, reflection, and community engagement.

Your training includes:

  • 20 Community Practice Hours

  • Assigned reading and self-study

  • Reflection journaling

  • Practice teaching assignments

  • Observation exercises

  • Personal practice recommendations

  • Mentorship and ongoing support throughout the program

Retreat Grounds

Every student receives a Salty Practice Passport at the beginning of the training—a companion designed to support your journey both on and off the mat.

As part of the program, you'll complete 20 Community Practice Hours by attending classes at Salty Buddha, experiencing a variety of teachers, class styles, and approaches to teaching.

Rather than simply checking attendance, your passport invites you to observe with intention, reflect with curiosity, and begin discovering your own authentic voice as a teacher.

After each class, you'll capture meaningful moments, including:

  • A cue or teaching style that resonated with you

  • An insight or "aha" moment

  • What inspired you

  • Something you'd like to carry into your own teaching

Along the way, you'll also complete optional Passport Adventures—playful invitations to step outside your comfort zone, experience different styles of yoga, connect with your community, and deepen your practice.

By graduation, your Salty Practice Passport becomes more than a journal—it becomes a keepsake of your transformation and a beautiful reminder of the experiences that shaped you into the teacher you're becoming.

What Makes Our Training Different?

At Salty Buddha, we believe great yoga teachers aren't created in a single weekend.

They're cultivated through consistent practice, meaningful mentorship, honest self-reflection, and authentic community.

Our program blends the foundations of yoga and more—including philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology, sequencing, Ayurveda, chakras, Reiki, and the business of yoga—with a deeply personal approach that encourages you to discover your own authentic teaching voice.

You'll learn how to skillfully guide a class, but you'll also learn how to hold space, build community, teach with intention, and lead from the heart.

Because teaching yoga isn't about having all the answers.

It's about continuing to be a student while inspiring others to do the same.

Whether your dream is to teach professionally, deepen your personal practice, or simply live yoga more fully, this training offers a supportive space to grow with confidence, compassion, and purpose.

We can't wait to welcome you into our Sangha.
